10 Day All Potato Diet - crazy or perfect?

Our family of four ate only potatoes for 10 days, to help us lose weight, simplify cooking, cut food cravings and prove to ourselves we could do it. Here's how it went!

The "rules"

01 Eat only potatoes (any variety of potato)

Rules vary depending on which plan you follow. These are the rules our family followed.

02 Eat as much as you want

03 Small amounts of fat-free condiments (like ketchup, BBQ sauce, etc.) and seasonings are fine.

04 Coffee and tea are fine. Drink lots of water.

Why potatoes?

Well, they're pretty much the perfect food. If you eat enough potatoes to get the calories you need, you'll get all the nutrients you need (yes, including sufficient protein!)

So, what do you even eat on an all potato diet?

Mashed potatoes

No butter or dairy added. The mashed potatoes were made with gold potatoes, a little almond milk and salt.

Baked Potato Halves

Steamed potatoes, mashed with fork or cut and seasoned

Oil-free Potato Wedges (in Air Fryer or Baked in Oven)

04

Hash browns (oil-free) made in non-stick skillet or air fryer

05

Roasted sweet potatoes whole or fries (no oil)

06

Potato Onion Cilantro Breakfast Skillet

We allowed aromatics like onion and cilantro as condiments, flavorings
